The history of Amaro Averna began in Caltanissetta, deep in the heart of Sicily. The Benedictine monk, Fra' Girolamo, gave a secret recipe to his friend Salvatore Averna. The recipe was for his 'amaro', a special herbal liqueur.This recipe has been passed down and guarded fiercely for four generations. But this much we will divulge: traditional Sicilian herbs of rosemary and thyme, roots, bark, berries and citrus peel are combined with love – and are guaranteed not to contain colourings or added flavourings.
